Every week in Ekya Early Years is a celebration of creativity and learning. The past weeks were no different- we witnessed heartwarming moments, from pretend vacations and hilarious jokes to healthy habits and tokens of gratitude !

Vacation Mode Activated at Ekya

In our Atelier, two young learners brought a beachside holiday to life through pretend play with a straw hat, sunglasses, and colourful feathers. One child became the star of the scene, while the other played the perfect stylist, adding a necklace made of large, vibrant beads. The imaginative play sparked giggles and storytelling, showing how simple props can inspire big adventures in our little ones’ minds.

A Whole Lot of Love for the Parents

Meanwhile, at Ekya Byrathi, our pre-primary children melted hearts during Parent Appreciation Day. With tiny hands and big love, they decorated envelopes and filled them with handmade love coupons — sweet tokens of gratitude to thank their parents. Each creation was unique and full of feeling, proving that love does come in small packages.

Learning to Care for Our Sparkling Smiles

We also took time to honour one of India’s great medical minds, Dr. Bidhan Chandra Roy, on his birth anniversary, July 1st. Dr. Divya, the guest for the day, visited our classrooms to share the importance of oral hygiene and healthy eating. The session was interactive and engaging, with children eagerly answering questions, sharing what they knew, and listening to fun stories about caring for their teeth.

Laughter Takes the Centre Stage

And finally, Tell a Joke Day at EITPL brought the house down with laughter! Armed with their funniest jokes, our little comedians had everyone in splits. To add to the fun, they played a game using colourful pegs and a “Tell a Joke” sign, passed around like musical chairs. When the music stopped, the child with the paper had to tell a joke—resulting in roars of laughter and unforgettable moments.

Triton 5.0: Schools Across Bengaluru Gear Up for Interschool Sports Fest by Ekya School, ITPL

The countdown has begun. With just days to go, students from across Bengaluru are preparing to converge at Ekya School, ITPL for Triton 5.0, the highly anticipated interschool sports festival. Scheduled for August 28th, 29th, and 30th 2025, the event promises three days of competition, friendship, and youthful spirit at the modern sports facilities of the best school in Bangalore.

Now in its fifth edition, Triton has cemented its place on the school sports calendar as one of the city’s most anticipated sporting extravaganzas. For many young athletes from the best school in Bangalore, Triton is a stage to test their skills, showcase discipline, and experience the thrill of competing beyond their school grounds. And for spectators, it offers the chance to witness talent, teamwork, and tenacity in action.

A Showcase of Sportsmanship

Triton 5.0 will see contests in basketball, football, volleyball, throwball, and table tennis. These sports, each demanding different skill sets, reflect the breadth of talent nurtured in leading K12 schools in ITPL today.

Football matches will follow a knockout format, with participants playing two halves of seven minutes each. Teams across three categories (Grades 12 & below, Grades 9 & below, and Grades 7 & below) will battle it out, with a ten-player roster.
Basketball, always a crowd-puller, will feature boys’ and girls’ teams across three categories. Matches will be played in four quarters, ranging from 8 minutes for younger players to 10 minutes for seniors. The rotation system for the youngest category ensures every participant gets time on the court.
Volleyball will bring together 12-member teams under FIVB rules, with games played over three sets of 25 points each. Teams from the best K12 schools in ITPL will be grouped into two age brackets: Grades 12 & below and Grades 10 & below.
Throwball, a sport with a growing following, will feature two categories for girls—Grades 12 & below and Grades 8 & below. Teams of 12 will compete in three sets of 25 points each, played under TFI rules.
Table Tennis adds a one-on-one element to the fest, where individual skill and quick reflexes come into sharp focus.

Each event will be supervised with the principle that the umpire’s decision is final, reinforcing discipline and fairness at the heart of competition.

What sports will be played at Triton 5.0?

Japan Festival Fosters Cultural Exchange and Creativity at Ekya School Byrathi

The Japan Festival- Kala Kabe, held at Ekya School Byrathi, brought together the vibrant cultures of India and Japan in a celebration of art, tradition, and collaboration. The centerpiece of the event was the India & Japan Children’s Mural Project, a collaborative mural created by students from Ekya School, CMR NPS, and Japan, directed by renowned Japanese mural artist Teiko Nishimori, who is also the Founder of ICFA Japan.

The mural was unveiled by Hokuto Kaya, Consulate-General of Japan in Bengaluru, in the presence of dignitaries including Dr. K.C. Ramamurthy, Chairman, CMR Group of Institutions, Dr. Sabitha Ramamurthy, President, CMR Jnanadhara Trust, Mr. K.R. Jayadeep, CEO, CMR Group of Institutions and Dr. Tristha Ramamurthy, Founder, Ekya Schools.

Teiko Nishimori has been traveling the world for over 45 years, leading large-scale mural projects that bring children together to celebrate themes of friendship, peace, and the connection between people, animals, and nature. Her unique process involves engaging children in discussions, listening to their ideas, and working together to transform blank walls into vibrant stories. This project at Ekya Schools marks her very first mural in India, making it an especially meaningful journey. Speaking about the project, Nishimori said, “Because of the friendship between Japanese and Indian students, we were able to finish this beautiful mural. I hope to continue this friendship and create more art together in the future.”

Speaking at the event, Dr. Tristha Ramamurthy said, “I would like to thank everyone who contributed to this incredible collaboration. This mural is not just an art piece but a permanent symbol of cultural exchange and creativity that will inspire generations on our campus.”

The festival, organized by Miho Sakata Malhan, Founder, Muse Creation, Bengaluru, featured a day full of enriching activities, including performances, workshops on Origami and Haiku, a traditional Japanese Tea Ceremony, and art displays by students. The Muse Charity Bazaar presented sustainable products and gourmet treats, adding to the cultural experience of the day.

Adding her perspective, Miho Sakata Malhan remarked, “This mural reflects the nature, culture, history, nostalgia, and future of Japan and India. It is a true representation of the friendship between these two nations and their students.”

The Japan Festival was a testament to how art and education can transcend boundaries, fostering creativity and building bridges between cultures. Attendees left inspired by the power of collaboration and cultural exchange.

Promoting Health and Wellness: Medical Camp at Ekya School, NICE Road

As part of the July theme, “Health and Wellness”, Ekya School NICE Road organised a medical camp on 28th July 2025 for students from Grades 1 to 10. The initiative aimed to promote preventive healthcare and foster a culture of well-being among our students.

The camp was facilitated by the expert team from Manipal Clinic, who conducted general health check-ups, including basic screenings and consultations. The students actively participated in the camp, gaining valuable insights into the importance of maintaining good health and adopting healthy habits.

The much-awaited Student Council Elections at Ekya ITPL took place on the 15th and 16th of June 2025, filling the campus with excitement and energy. On the first day, vibrant campaign posters adorned the walls, and enthusiastic candidates shared their visions during the assembly canvassing sessions. The atmosphere was charged with anticipation as students listened attentively to their peers, who confidently presented their ideas for a better school community.

The elections were particularly special for Grade 6 students, who participated as first-time voters. Their sincerity and dedication were evident as they carefully listened to the speeches, with many even taking notes to make well-informed decisions. Their fresh perspective and enthusiasm added a special touch to the election process, highlighting the importance of thoughtful participation.

On June 16th, Election Day was conducted in the school’s computer labs, and the excitement reached its peak. Students eagerly cast their votes, with many proudly displaying their inked fingers, symbolising their active role in the democratic process. The entire event was a smooth and well-organised affair, and it was heartening to witness the students embrace the responsibility of selecting their leaders.

One of the most inspiring moments of the elections was the camaraderie among the candidates.
